Good to know

Do I need an account to use Kapi?
No. Kapi works fully without an account — every feature for tracking your spending is available offline, on-device, from the moment you install. An optional account exists only for managing a premium subscription across devices.
Is my financial data really private?
Yes. Your expenses are stored locally on your device, not on our servers. There's no cloud sync of your transactions, no ads, and no tracking of your spending habits. Your data moves only when you create an encrypted backup yourself.
Can Kapi back up my data automatically?
Yes. Sign in and turn on automatic backup, and Kapi saves a backup to your own Google Drive or iCloud on a schedule you choose — daily, or a custom interval. The backup goes straight from your device to your personal cloud account; it never passes through our servers, and we can't see it.
What happens to my data when I change or lose my phone?
If automatic backup was on, you're covered: install Kapi on the new phone, sign in, and the app finds your latest backup in your Google Drive or iCloud automatically — you just tap to restore. Without a backup, data stays only on the old device, so turning on automatic backup is the safest choice if your records matter to you.
Then why is there a login at all?
For two optional things: automatic cloud backup to your own Drive or iCloud, and carrying a premium subscription across devices when you switch or reinstall. Everyday expense tracking needs no login, and your records stay on your device either way.
Is Kapi free?
Yes — the core experience is free and will stay free. Optional premium features like advanced analytics and richer reporting are available for those who want to go deeper. You're never forced into a subscription to track your money.
Does Kapi track me or collect my spending?
No. Kapi never collects your expenses, amounts, or categories, and shows no ads. The only data it gathers is anonymous performance and crash diagnostics — used purely to keep the app stable — and you can turn even that off in settings. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
